Car Hire Delivered to Your Door in Cape Town

Cape Town car rental with delivery is charged by zone, not by kilometre. The fee covers your host driving the car to you and completing the handover; the same fee applies again if we collect from a delivery zone at the end. All fees include VAT.

Mix and match freely: start with airport meet-and-greet and have us collect from your hotel, or the reverse. Because one fleet serves every zone, there is no one-way fee between them. Outside these areas (Hermanus, Langebaan or the Overberg, for example) we can often still help; ask for a quote.

Because you verify online before the day, the handover at your door is short. Your host will:

1. Check your documents. Your original driver's licence, plus your ID (South African residents) or passport (visitors), matching what you uploaded. Additional drivers must be present with their licences.
2. Place the deposit hold on the main driver's credit card, if it was not taken online.
3. Walk round the car with you, recording existing marks with time-stamped photos, plus the fuel or charge level and odometer.
4. Take you through the car: pairing your phone, the navigation, child seats if booked, and anything particular to the model.
5. Sign the digital contract on your phone. A copy goes to your email and your Mylz account.

Allow about ten to fifteen minutes. Your host leaves on foot or is collected by a colleague, so you don't need to arrange anything.

Delivery and collection run daily from morning to evening. Choose a time slot when you book and your host messages you when they are on the way. Earlier or later handovers can be arranged in advance for an after-hours fee (shown in your quote in Cape Town, shown in your quote in the Winelands).

Traffic in Cape Town is predictable: inbound routes (N1, N2 and M3) are slow on weekday mornings, outbound routes from mid-afternoon, and the Atlantic Seaboard's single coastal road is busy on summer weekends. We plan around it, but a mid-morning slot is the easiest to keep exact.

• Hotels: we meet you in the lobby or at the porte-cochère. If the hotel has valet or garage parking, let us know and we hand the car over there. Many City Bowl and Waterfront hotels charge guests for parking, so check the rate when you book your room.
• Villas and holiday homes: Clifton, Bantry Bay and Camps Bay villas often have steep driveways, narrow garages or remote-controlled gates. Tell us the access arrangements and the gate or concierge contact, and we will deliver to the door.
• Gated estates and wine farms: give us the name the car should be registered under at the gate. For Winelands estates, the handover can happen at reception.
• Marinas and yacht clubs: we deliver to the V&A Waterfront and other marinas by arrangement; give us the gate or berth details.
• Offices: reception or the visitor parking bay works well for business travellers.

At the end of your rental your host collects the car from the address you choose, which doesn't have to be where it was delivered. Leave yourself ten minutes for the return check; we compare the car against the handover photos and email you the return report.

• Different address: have the car delivered to your hotel in town and collected from your guesthouse in Franschhoek. Each address is charged at its own zone fee.
• Early returns: message us and we will collect sooner if a host is available. We confirm how an early return affects your total before you decide.
• Extending: extend from your account or on WhatsApp, subject to availability. The new total is shown before you confirm.
• Fuel: return the car with the same fuel level (full-to-full), or choose Prepaid Fuel so you don't need to stop.
